FLIR C2 Brings Thermal Imaging Within Reach of Tradesmen

Compact design and radiometric imagery for fast troubleshooting and powerful reports that building professionals need.

Priced at only £599, the FLIR C2 is the first full-featured, pocket-sized thermal camera designed to help building professionals see hidden heat patterns that can reveal sources of energy loss, signs of structural defects, and plumbing issues.

FLIR C2 Brings Thermal Imaging Within Reach of Tradesmen

With its compact, sleek design, the FLIR C2 fits comfortably into any pocket, making it one of the most convenient thermal cameras on the market. Professionals including builders, roofers, home and insurance inspectors, electricians, can keep the C2 handy while still carrying other tools and equipment. The C2 has a simple-to-use touch screen with auto orientation, and it is built tough in a rugged casing. With its simple point-and-shoot operation, the FLIR C2 can store radiometric JPEGs with the push of a button. The images can be downloaded later using the free FLIR Tools software that allows the user to adjust thermal image levels, isolate and add temperature measurements, change colour palettes, and create reports.
Featuring FLIR’s patented MSX® real-time image enhancement, the C2 creates thermal images with enhanced clarity and readability. MSX automatically embosses edge detail captured by an onboard visible camera onto the thermal image. Numbers, letters, textures, and other features become recognizable without compromising the thermal image. The extra illumination of the work light also helps ensure that a brighter visible photo is captured along with the C2’s thermal image.

Rickard Lindvall, FLIR vice president and general manager of FLIR’s instruments business sector, said: “The C2 is not only a convenient tool to help you get more done and take advantage of every opportunity to uncover issues, but also helps you verify the success of completed repairs for your customers. By offering FLIR C2 for less than £600, we hope to help put this powerful tool into the hands of more professionals who can really use it – whether you’re a building industry expert, contractor, energy auditor, retrofitter, inspector, roofer, HVAC technician or plumber.”
Does it Work?

Flir c2, the tradesmans thermal camera

The image on the screen of the FLIR C2 is easy to understand. With a few minutes of practice, your average Joe blogs will have no trouble identifying that the colder a surface is the darker the colour and the hotter... The C2 is a capable and convenient solution for those looking to get a quick look at otherwise invisible heat sources.

In Conclusion

This is not a traditional thermal camera, and it challenges the format of other imagers with similar specs. One question that led to a heated (no pun intended!) debate in our office was "should a thermal camera always have a handle?

The Most Accurate & Stable Calibration Bath In Its Class

Calibration baths are the most stable and uniform temperature sources available, but they aren’t a good fit for cleanrooms. The size of a bath limits its portability, and bath fluids can easily spill and give off vapors.

The Most Accurate & Stable Calibration Bath In Its Class

The Fluke 9190A Ultra-Cool Field Metrology Well is a great alternative. Its wide temperature range brackets the coldest and highest temperature ranges required for pharmaceutical, biomedical and food processing applications.

The 9190A is small and lightweight, making it easy to transport. And since it does not use heat transfer fluids, cleanrooms stay clean. The 9190A cooling and heating times are faster than a calibration bath—that means calibration work gets done more quickly.

Fluke 9190A features

The Calibrator has two models: the 9190A and the 9190A-P. The 9190A-P is a “Process” version of the 9190A that combines the heat source with a built-in thermometer input panel. The Input Panel includes an input for an external reference/control thermometer that makes it possible to perform a transmitter loop calibration, comparison calibration, or a simple check of a temperature sensor. In addition, the Input Panel can read resistance and current from a probe. For probes that require power to operate, the 4-20 mA input has a loop-power function that can source up to 24 volts of power.

Wide temperature range:

–95 °C to 140 °C

Excellent accuracy:

Accuracy using built-in reference thermometer readout:  ± 0.05 °C full range

Display accuracy:  ± 0.2 °C full range

Best-in-class stability:

± 0.015 °C full range.
Fast cooling time.

23 °C to –90 °C:  80 minutes.

23 °C to –95 °C:  90 minutes.

140 °C to 23 °C:  60 minutes.

Portability:

Weighs only 16 kg (35 lbs).

Built-in front and back handles for easy two-handed carry.
Best measurement practices:

Conforms with EURAMET cg-13 guidance on measurement practices for temperature calibrators.

5 motivations to pick the Super Thermometer for your high precision temperature estimations

Here are 5 motivations to pick the Super Thermometer for your high precision temperature estimations.

1) Sufficiently accurate for the essential lab, sufficiently practical for the optional lab:-

The Super-Thermometer offers superior precision at a temperate expense.
The 1595A offers degree exactness of 0.06 ppm (0.000015 °C) at degrees close to one (0.95 to 1.05). You can get comparative precision with conventional air conditioning scaffolds and other computerized extensions, yet they cost 30 % to 80 % more

2) Easy to utilize:-

The Super-Thermometer offers an instinctive client interface that makes it much simpler to use than a scaffold. Dissimilar to extensions that just show proportion, the 1594A and 1595A let you pick how to display results—in degree (Rx/Rs), Ω, °C, °F, K

3) Fast, advantageous setup and operation:-

Each of the five terminals of every Super-Thermometer channel are adjusted vertically, making it simple to interface a test and distinguish which channel its associated with. Configurable standby present for every info channel minimizes warming toward oneself homeless people when examining between channels. The zero-force estimation capacity computes the impacts of warming toward oneself naturally, sparing time and expanding exactness over different instruments that oblige you to do this physically.

4) Verify exactness in-house—rapidly and effortlessly:-

The patent-pending Ratio Self-Calibration gimmick empowers you to effortlessly test the precision or balance the resistance degree linearity of the Super-Thermometer's estimation circuit, in around 30 minutes

5) Extremely quick estimation speed:-

Super-Thermometers offer speeds as quick as one second every estimation full  exactness with a two-second specimen period). Speedier estimation paces permit you to assess reaction times of diverse Thermometer test sorts. Conventional extensions ordinarily oblige at least 20 seconds to finish a solitary estimation. There's a great deal going ahead in the middle of estimations that you simply can't see when utilizing a customary proportion span. The Super-Thermometer not just finishes the estimation rapidly; it likewise charts the outcome, making it simple to outwardly assess your method.
